TASTE: Back to Food 10-Day Reset. We love the idea of a reset in the fall–some structure to start the season off in a positive way! Summer lifestyle and diet choices can cause an imbalance to our system and disrupt hormones such as cortisol and insulin resulting in unpleasant symptoms that affect the way we feel day in and day out. The good news is that MOST people can make HUGE progress when it comes to getting their body's rhythm back on track. If you heard Interwovxn board member + nutritionist Maria Viall on the podcast and appreciate her approach to food, check out her 10 day reset that includes meal plans and recipes.
SEE: Corporate Office Outfit Diary. Transitioning back into the office more often and looking for some style inspiration? We are enjoying the new series from Meighan Grady of the I Think It Is Brave newslettter on substack where she is documenting her real life outfits.
SMELL: 5 Mindful Transition Rituals to Signify Your Shift From Work to Home Life. OK this one is for those of you working from home! We loved these ideas to change up the vibe and mood after your work day through your senses. Dim the lights or close the curtains to block outside light or vice versa. Create and listen to an end-of-workday playlist. Light incense or a candle and soak in a new aroma. Your senses recognize the transition and help your mind adapt to the change.
HEAR: Mindful in Minutes Podcast. Create new rhythms with these short, weekly guided meditations to help you stress less and live more. Each week join Kelly Smith, founder of Yoga For You, for simple and grounded guided meditations that are 20 minutes or less and cover an array of topics that will help you with real life like anxiety, insomnia, self-esteem and manifestation.
TOUCH: Here’s How Often You Should Wash Your Makeup Brushes, According to Experts. Speaking of resets, who else needs to give their makeup brushes a refresh?? We admit that we are guilty of not even thinking to wash ours! It turns out that maintaining a makeup brush or blending sponge cleaning routine is essential in keeping away dirt and bacteria. What happens if you don't wash your makeup brushes? What are the best ways to clean them? Consider this your guide to giving your makeup brushes (and your skin) the much-needed care they deserve.
Can we ask a favor? If you enjoy this newsletter every week, please consider sharing it with a friend (or friends)! We could use your help in growing our audience so that we can continue to do this work. Thanks!!
my (rebecca) CHALLENGE/WIN: leaning into TRANSITION
Having a child in school marks time in a new way… the seasons, the years. It is easy to get lost in all the details (see link below on the invisible load of back to school) and to worry about the transitions. As someone who is familiar with anxiety and has an amazing and sensitive child, it has sometimes felt easier to try and control the details in an effort to ease the unease–this has been one of my coping strategies, long before having a child. But as she grows, I grow, as she changes, I change (and it turns out she has pretty strong opinions for which I cannot control;) Transitions offer opportunity and possibility and SO I am making an effort to take a step back and allow things to unfold without such a tight grip. I am leaning into the possibility of wonderful things to come instead of worrying about all the ways it could go wrong.
speaking of TRANSITIONS…
