Remember when we mentioned embracing the practice of giving what we can, when we can… well this has been a week! School closed for lead abatement, podcast episode release, and busy work schedule. So getting by on grit (and laying in bed watching feel-good shows between all the things;)
Our superpowers often reveal themselves in moments that demand grit—those times when perseverance, passion, and resilience collide to push through challenges. Grit isn’t just about endurance; it’s about staying connected to a deeper purpose, even when the path feels unclear or exhausting. Whether it’s navigating the demands of motherhood, managing careers, advocating for their families, or showing up for their communities, women demonstrate an unwavering determination that often goes unnoticed. This kind of strength doesn’t come from pushing through blindly—it comes from an ability to pivot, to listen to intuition, and to adapt when circumstances require a new approach. It’s the quiet but fierce resolve to keep going, even when the world says to slow down or give up.
This week’s INTERWOVXN podcast episode taps into another critical aspect of our superpowers—the ability to listen to and honor the messages our bodies send us. True resilience doesn’t come from ignoring our limits or pushing past signals of burnout. It comes from developing the discipline to pause, assess, and respond with care. By learning to understand the shifts in our cycles and how they affect our energy, emotions, and health, we’re reclaiming a power that’s often overlooked. Grit means honoring those signals—whether that’s slowing down during the luteal phase or harnessing the natural momentum of ovulation.
When we approach our bodies with this kind of respect and awareness, we’re not just practicing self-care—we’re activating a deeper form of resilience. Strength isn’t about doing it all; it’s about knowing when to push, when to pause, and when to pivot. By honoring the signals our bodies send, we cultivate a sustainable power that fuels us from within. This week’s conversation is an invitation to tap into that wisdom, trust our instincts, and embrace the extraordinary superpowers that come from staying connected to our bodies and cycles.

and SO this week we leave you with…
TASTE: How to Make Grits. Comfort in a bowl—grits are a Southern classic that can be dressed up or enjoyed simply. Whether you prefer them creamy and buttery or topped with shrimp, eggs, fresh veggies, or a sprinkle of cheese, grits make a nourishing and versatile addition to any meal. Made from ground corn, they’re naturally gluten-free and full of fiber to keep you satisfied. If you’ve never made them before, it’s easier than you think! Check out this easy recipe and experiment with your favorite toppings to create a dish that feels like home.
Bonus: Mango Kale Matcha & Cocoa Nib Smoothie from our friend Britta of Private Palate. Matcha delivers antioxidants, sustained energy, and stress relief, while cocoa nibs provide magnesium, iron, and heart-healthy benefits with a satisfying crunch.
SEE: The Beginner's Guide to Scoring Great Vintage Finds Online. As we clear out our closets this spring, we’re taking a more intentional look at what stays and what goes. It’s not just about making space—it’s about redefining how we want to feel in the pieces we wear. Moving away from fast fashion means embracing quality over quantity and finding pieces that truly resonate. This beginner’s guide to scoring great vintage finds online from Platonic Love is a perfect resource to help us thoughtfully add items that inspire and excite us while supporting sustainability. Because curating a wardrobe with care is one way we can align our outer expression with our deeper values.
Bonus: Shows that got us through the week! Running Point follows Kate Hudson as a determined basketball coach navigating the highs and lows of leading a women’s college team. It’s a feel-good mix of sports, resilience, and heart and was just what I needed! Project Runway Junior came out the year my daughter was born (2017) and there were only two seasons, but it has been really fun to watch together. She gets super excited to get cozy and watch an episode which has also been a nice way for us to move through this week together!
SMELL: Lavender Carrot Cake Cookies. We’re feeling inspired to try something new for our upcoming spring gatherings, and these cookies are at the top of our list! The combination of sweet, earthy carrots and the floral aroma of lavender feels like the perfect way to welcome the season. Lavender adds a fresh, fragrant twist to the classic carrot cake flavor, making these cookies an ideal treat for brunches, garden parties, or cozy afternoons with tea. Oooh, and speaking of spring entertaining, we loved these simple tablescapes!

The list promises something for everyone—whether you're throwing a party or seeking introspection.

TOUCH: DIY Dyeing + Painting. Spring is the perfect time to get creative with your hands, and we’re feeling inspired by the idea of natural dyeing and DIY painting projects. Whether it's experimenting with vibrant hues from flowers, herbs, and vegetables or using a tampon as a paintbrush—there’s something so satisfying about the tactile experience of bringing color and pattern to life. Natural dyeing connects us to the earth and the changing seasons, while playful projects like tampon painting invite us to reimagine everyday objects in a whole new way.
